grom* again!

This is the tale of my journey back into the surfing world at age 54, after a 23 year hiatus. Yep, 23 years landlocked and dry-docked, in the city of Bakersfield. So I knew it wasn't going to be a cakewalk. But like any journey, documenting and sharing can enhance the experience, and become part of the learning process. So thanks for stopping by! - Huck

*grom: for the non-surfers, grom means a beginner. Also called grommet, grem, gremmie, or (going way way back), ho-dad.

inspiring surf-fitness video

because this is where my journey is taking me right now, I'm gonna post a surf-fitness video or two. Training and conditioning seems to be key for me at present. The other thing I'm going to have to address more fully in time, is board design: shape, volume, rocker, etc. But due to budget and other limitations, I can't fully explore that avenue at present. But fitness is something I can work on every day, and that is my resolve.

Fitness for Life from Surf Stronger on Vimeo.

There are 4 good videos on surf-fitness training, that I am unable to embed. You can access them here - this is a link to the first video (with annoying ads at first, sorry), and you can then click on the others if you'd like to watch them. I think they are worth watching.
